Following successful conclusion of the ground demonstration effort in phase 1 of the HEAT (Helicopter Electric Actuation Technology) programme during 2002, the team of Agusta Westland, BAE Systems and Claverham have launched phase 2 of the programme, leading to production standard hardware and flight demonstration in 2004. The project is part funded by the UK Government, and was launched in 1997.
