Principal Tasks
To undertake system engineering tasks in projects involving mechanical, electronic and software engineering to produce systems designs of high integrity.
To capture stakeholder requirements through direct communication and interpretation of technical documentation.
To assist in the development of candidate architectures and cost/capability trade studies to determine the optimum solution to meet stakeholder requirements.
To create sub-system design and interface requirements which decompose the customer's requirements from the system level specification.
Where appropriate, to create requirements for sub-contracts which reflect customer and internal company requirements.
To ensure effective Change Management of requirements and verification documentation.
Undertake design and requirement validation activities to ensure structured, efficient and effective risk management and mitigation.
Undertake design verification activities to ensure they are conducted in a structured, efficient and effective manner to prove compliance to all stakeholder requirements.
To identify the potential for improvement and contribute to the development of the Systems Engineering Procedures and Working Practices.
To promote systems engineering techniques throughout the company and help develop the level of competency in other engineers and designers.
Work closely with the project managers to ensure business needs are satisfied.
To carry out the above tasks working within the relevant Company Procedures.
To always produce quality work to agreed timescale.
To ensure the safety of both the design and working environment.
All employees shall comply with EH&S Policy, report unsafe practices or conditions to supervision for prompt resolution, attend scheduled EH&S training programs, actively support the meeting of EH&S targets and plans, and recommend improved EH&S practices wherever possible. |
