Quality Engineer

Reporting to:

Head of Product Assurance

Responsible for:

Operational deployment of QMS + product integrity including airworthiness

 

 

 

Qualifications/Experience:

Essential -

Degree of equivalent in an engineering discipline , or an ONC + 3 years relevant experience in Q A or 7 + years experience in Aerospace based QA

Desirable -

Auditing experience and training to AS 9100 or equivalent , Knowledge of CAA and EASA regs , Product design / development process and controls. Application experience of 7 new tools of Quality .Ability to solve problems .Metrology background. Familiar with the application of SPC and sufficient computer literacy to sustain the company databases

Outline of Job Requirements:

•  Prompt identification and pre-empting of problems within an IPT structure

•  Fault investigation experience and capacity to capture , own and resolve problems of a complex nature

•  A capable auditor , up to date with audit technique and the requirements of AS 9100

•  Able to multi task – i.e. interface with more than one project team and customer

•  Have a clear , consistent and stable attitude – commensurate with providing and authorative and supporting role for the deployment of Quality within a fast moving and dynamic product development team

•  Capable of consistency under pressure – i.e. whilst the team are pushing the boundaries of performance – a project QE must be consistent, right and an excellent communicator.

•  Capable of leading 8 D problem solving team(s)

•  Fastidious in the close out of corrective and preventive actions

•  Develop an understanding of the metallurgy limits of the materials we use and ensure that pfmea tools are properly deployed

•  Capable of assimilating new technology and providing this input into the Quality team

•  Capable of setting goals , gathering and collating data and presenting cogent trends for management and customer consumption

•  Able to operate at multiple levels – e.g. conduct an FAI on site with a supplier – making primary measurements and collating a report and at the same supplier meet with the MD and exec team and convince them of the need for CQI .

•  Work effectively within a small team of QE's , covering for each other's absence and making a positive contribution to the team as a whole .

•  Capable of developing management skills – and supporting our succession plans.

•  A consistent and trusted member of the MRB team .
