The market for Unmanned Vehicles has grown rapidly in the last five years, driven primarily by the success in military surveillance and reconnaissance applications. In many such applications, the vehicle is ultimately expendable and a lower level of system integrity may have been accepted for cost or performance reasons, when compared with manned vehicles. The UV industry is moving towards more widespread-use in commercial operations both in Europe and the USA. The corollary of this that a greater level of integrity will be required without the cost penalty often associated with uniquely designed systems in manned aerospace. By combining low-cost components developed for guided weapon applications with redundant architectures developed for more-electric manned aircraft, Claverham is able to offer actuation solutions appropriate to all sizes and classes of vehicle. This approach is also applied to UGV and UUV applications
Claverham is represented on the council of the UAVS (Unmanned Air Vehicle Systems) Association, a UK trade association.
